Seven of the Speechmatics team went to the Rosie Maternity Hospital, part of Addenbrooke’s, yesterday for a day of voluntary gardening for our charity of the year, Addenbrooke’s Charitable Trust (ACT).
The team were shown the newly opened haematology department and got to see first-hand, examples of some of the work that ACT does. The team were involved in a range of gardening activities from weeding and pressure washing, to sweeping, bench painting and window cleaning. A lot of fun was had by all and everyone came away with huge smiles on their faces having put in a lot of hard work and effort for this cause.
As part of Speechmatics’ core perks and benefits package, employees are allowed one volunteer day off a year, whereby they can take a paid day off work to support a charity of their choice. The initiative gives employees the opportunity to make a difference in the local community and help support charities that are close to their heart.
